Editors Michelle Ray and Chenny Henny recently revisited the Apple Vision Pro, a head-up display, after their initial encounter with it at WWDC. The device comes with some fancy new features, including Apple Immersive Video, Disney+ environments, an “Encounter Dinosaurs” experience, and even a floating keyboard. It’s like they’re trying to pack in all the cool stuff they can think of! Unfortunately, the floating keyboard fell short of expectations during its initial test in June of last year.

When it comes to the Apple Vision Pro, comfort is a big deal. After all, everyone has their own unique preferences. The device comes with a strap that is wide, ridged, and soft. At first, it felt like I was carrying around a small weight on my wrist, which was quite uncomfortable. In order to tackle this issue, the company made a clever adjustment by replacing the strap with one that has two loops and a cushion with a light seal. It was quite a smart move, if you ask me! The Dual Loop Band proved to be a pleasant surprise when it came to weight distribution, ensuring that it stayed securely in place without constantly slipping down the user’s hair.

Apple also has something called Apple Immersive Video and spatial videos, which offer a unique perspective for both Apple enthusiasts and those new to the Apple world. With this device, you can witness Alicia Keys delivering mesmerising performances right in your living room, or even catch a glimpse of a family fearlessly playing football with rhinos on a pitch. It’s like having front-row seats to the most extraordinary and unexpected experiences! The immersive video part of the demo was quite overwhelming, but I must admit, the sensory experience of watching the animals and the reflection of an Apple logo on a lake was rather impressive.

To put it simply, the Apple Vision Pro provides users with a one-of-a-kind and captivating experience. With features like Apple Immersive Video and spatial videos, it lets users feel like they’re both on the inside and the outside.

Apple’s Disney+ app is still a work in progress, but it does offer some immersive environments, like a Disney-themed drive-in. It’s definitely an interesting feature to check out! The app lets users pick their backdrop and have a blast with characters from all sorts of films and TV shows. The Avengers Tower environment is truly remarkable, complete with hidden surprises and a conveniently placed takeaway container. It’s like a playground for fans, offering a delightful mix of excitement and hunger-inducing temptation. The typing experience is quite impressive, with a floating keyboard that works like a charm for typing. On the downside, the keyboard seems to be positioned a bit too far away for comfortable use. It’s almost like they expect us to have super-long arms! To make matters worse, you’ll have to rely on voice typing or connect a Bluetooth keyboard to get any real work done.

The Vision Pro gives off more of the vibe of a personal home theatre than a work device. The app also provides meditation sessions, complete with floating 3D objects to help you relax and prompts to reflect on gratitude. It’s a delightful addition to the app’s features. The app’s floating keyboard could definitely use some improvement. It’s not exactly the most practical tool for getting work done. The meditation experience was absolutely perfect with the Vision Pro. It’s great for shutting out all those pesky distractions and really honing in on your breathing. Trust me, it’s a game-changer!

I must say, the meditation features of the app really caught me off guard. Who would have thought they would include floating 3D objects and prompts to think about gratitude? Certainly not what I had anticipated, but it could very well become the norm among meditation applications! The demo was disappointingly short, leaving the user wanting more. In my humble opinion, Apple’s Disney+ app truly delivers an immersive experience for die-hard fans of the franchise. It’s like stepping into a magical world where you can lose yourself in all the Disney goodness. So, if you’re a fan, this app is definitely worth checking out!

Chenny and Michelle had the pleasure of trying out the Apple Vision Pro at WWDC, and let me tell you, it was quite an experience. They even had a butterfly land on their fingers! Talk about being in the tech world and nature all at once! The headset flawlessly detected their finger positions and managed to make the butterflies gracefully perch on their fingertips. Chenny was initially terrified, but soon discovered that the experience was actually quite enjoyable and impressive. Michelle was completely engrossed in the experience, getting up close and personal with dinosaurs. They couldn’t help but feel a bit silly as they walked around a table.

The eye- and hand-tracking systems quite surprised Chenny, who quickly mastered the art of navigating the interface. Despite the mind-blowing experience, she wasn’t exactly sold on the idea of spending hours wearing the headset. Can you blame her? The device’s $3,500 price is definitely not within her budget, but the Apple Vision Pro is widely regarded as the top-notch choice among all the VR, AR, and MR headsets she’s tested. It’s clear that Apple has put a lot of thought into this one.

Michelle was pleasantly surprised by how user-friendly the Vision Pro is. It definitely has potential for web browsing, email, and industrial apps, but let’s be honest, its real star quality is its ability to deliver an exceptional movie-watching experience. Although Apple is not the pioneer in creating an immersive experience, Chenny couldn’t help but feel delighted by the headset. She found it quite enjoyable to use, especially with photo and video apps.
